BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2,000 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist nearly two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains quality management systems and suggests improvements.
  • Helps ensure compliance with standards, rules, and regulations, as well as customer requirements.
  • Facilitates the maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures companywide.
  • Assists in conducting quality measurements and inspections, as necessary.
  • Participates in corrective and preventative actions for internal non-compliance findings as well as actions required by external agencies.
  • Guides inspection data input to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Key member of companywide safety committee.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and executes readiness drills for safety and emergency operations.
  • Participates on the Management Review Boards, as required.
  • Ensures safety programs are implemented in compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Provides assistance, guidance, education, and training to departments regarding quality issues, safety, and compliance.
  • Conducts inspections and audits of business and program operations, policy, and safety programs, including acting as liaison with internal and external auditors.
  • Participates in onboarding of new production projects and establishes quality checks.
  • Supports projects related to various certifications that the organization holds.
  • Coordinates Certificates of Insurance for customers and from vendors.
  • Reviews accident and incident reports to determine root causes, identify weaknesses, and prevent recurrence.
  • Communicates proactively and takes appropriate action when quality or safety procedures are not followed or performance does not meet requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Trains and ensures that Quality Assurance Inspectors follow all quality procedures and requirements.
  • Evaluates performance and conducts performance appraisals of supervised employees.

SAFETY:

  • Report any potentially dangerous situations to supervisor and Human Resources. Take steps necessary to protect clients and staff until the situation is corrected.
  • Reinforce safe practices to clients and staff.
  • Attend Safety meetings and training(s) as required.
  • In the event of an industrial accident or illness, in conjunction with supervisor, complete an accident investigation and report to Human Resources and the Safety Committee Chair.
  • Ensure a safe work environment with the coordination of safety programs and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to use computer programs such as: MRP systems, MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to travel independently to various sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Superior organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Two years of quality and/or risk management experience
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge of diverse business functions.
  • Adaptability to shift between different tasks and respond appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to develop new skills and learn new software tools.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
