JOB SUMMARY
As a Robotics Systems Support Specialist I at ASI, you are responsible for supporting the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues affecting deployed robotic systems under the guidance of senior team members. You contribute to root-cause investigations, documentation, and cross-functional communication to improve system reliability and customer outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in diagnosing issues across hardware, software, and electromechanical subsystems by gathering logs, telemetry, and system data.
- Reproduce reported field issues using physical hardware and documented procedures under supervision.
- Support Tier 2 escalations by collecting and organizing diagnostic information for senior engineers.
- Document findings, steps taken, and outcomes in internal tracking and knowledge management systems.
- Collaborate with Field Operations and Engineering teams to communicate issue status and resolution progress.
- Follow established debug guides and troubleshooting playbooks to resolve known failure modes.
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of internal documentation, including troubleshooting guides and issue logs.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB SKILLS
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electronics, mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience working with electromechanical, robotic, or complex technical systems.
- Foundational hands-on troubleshooting skills across hardware and software.
- Basic familiarity with Linux-based environments.
- Ability to read and interpret system logs and structured data with guidance.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting autonomous or robotic systems in a field or lab environment.
- Familiarity with robotics sensors, embedded systems, or autonomy stacks.
- Exposure to CAN, networking protocols, or low-level debugging tools.
- Background in systems support, field service, or reliability functions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation constantly throughout the workday.
- Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Ability to effectively complete job responsibilities on computer monitors.
- Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through other electronic means.
- Able to traverse an office environment.
