Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for an Instrument Fitter to join our team in Kingsport, TN. Instrument Fitters will be responsible for planning layout, fabrication, assembly, installation and repair of instruments, both electronic and pneumatic, including primary piping and tubing. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Basic knowledge of pipe threading
• NCCER certification may be required on some job sites
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements:

Selects type and size of pipe and related material according to job specification; installs new, modifies or repairs existing installations; measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs primary piping and tubing; installs tubing, multitude bundles, junction boxes, instruments, both electronic and pneumatic, air piping and tubing; connects all piping and tubing to equipment; leak tests all piping and tubing installed; observes all installed instrument and systems to determine hazards, need for adjustment , relocation or replacement; may repair faulty equipment or systems; minimizes waste of material and avoids unsightly, hazardous or unreliable installations.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:
