As our Chainman for our Survey & Geospatial team in Utah, you'll play a key role in supporting field survey operations, working alongside experienced survey professionals while building the technical foundation for a long-term career in land surveying.

What You'll Do
As a Chainman, you will support field survey operations and contribute to high-quality data collection and project delivery.
Field Survey Support
- Assist with boundary surveys, right-of-way surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, ALTA surveys, and control surveys
- Operate and assist with setup of survey equipment including total stations, GPS RTK systems, data collectors, digital levels, and laser scanners
- Record accurate field data, notes, and sketches (digital and handwritten)
- Perform level circuits and GPS real-time network calibrations
- Support staking, monument placement, and marking activities
Technical Support & Collaboration
- Read and interpret engineering plans, survey maps, and field notes
- Collaborate with survey team members and occasionally assist with basic Crew Chief duties
- Maintain survey equipment, tools, and vehicles in good working condition
Safety & Professional Conduct
- Follow established safety procedures on active job sites
- Work effectively outdoors in varying conditions for extended periods
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2+ years of related field survey experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of survey methods, equipment, and field procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, up to 12 hours per day
